"Star Trek - Starship Spotter" from Pocket Books is only a few weeks away from hitting the stores.  This newest Star Trek technical reference book will combine computer-generated renderings by Robert Bonchune and Adam 'Mojo' Lebowitz, along with vessel specifications and construction histories by Jonathan Lane and our own Alex Rosenzweig.  This text will beautifully and accurately depict dozens of vessels of the Star Trek universe, while providing informative technical data on these famous ships.  Please note that FEDERATION FRONTIERS is in no way affiliated with "Star Trek - Starship Spotter" or Pocket Books.  Buy it anyway!

NEWS

FEDERATION FRONTIERS member Alex Rosenzweig was recently out-sourced by Pocket Books as writing contributor for their upcoming  release "Star Trek - Starship Spotter".  This newest technical reference book will combine computer-generated renderings by Robert Bonchune and Adam 'Mojo' Lebowitz, along with vessel specifications and construction histories by Jonathan Lane and out own Alex Rosenzweig.  Due to hit stores in November of 2001, this text will beautifully and accurately depict dozens of vessels of the Star Trek universe.  This is not the first time Alex was involved in a Paramount-licensed Star Trek publication.  A few years back, he was part of an online team for Pocket Books that wrote a timeline for "Star Trek: Adventures in Time and Space", a book about the last 20 years of Star Trek novel publishing.  Alex was selected to be involved in both these projects by the staff at Pocket Books because of his unrivaled attention to detail and vast knowledge of the Star Trek Universe.  Alex Rosenzweig has been involved with Star Trek fandom for over 25 years.  He is a high-ranking member of STARFLEET (www.sfi.org) the International Star Trek Fan Association.  For some time, Alex has headed its Department of Technical Services (DTS) division and most recently he has been given command of its Shuttle Operations Command (ShOC).

In the fall of 2000, I was given the chance of a lifetime...a private inspection of the motion picture U.S.S. Enterprise.  After receiving a free set of my Avenger-class Heavy Frigate General Plans last year, the staff of Foundation Imaging invited Alex Rosenzweig and myself to visit their facility in Valencia, CA.  Foundation Imaging has done Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) work for such television shows as Babylon 5, Roughnecks and even Star Trek: Voyager.  I flew out to Los Angeles, CA on Thursday September 7, 2000.  After a day and a half of visiting several cool Trek spots in LA, I reached Foundation Imaging early that Saturday morning.  While in Valencia, I was given two full days of private access to the legendary eight-foot (8'-4" exactly) filming model of the refit Enterprise, used for the first six Star Trek films.  At the time, Paramount Pictures had given the crew at Foundation access to it, along with the Klingon cruiser and the workbee, for their work on the Special Director's Edition DVD release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.  This two-disc DVD set, scheduled to be released in early November of 2001, should mark a significant return of fan focus to the GREATEST ship ever created for 35 years of Star Trek.  Along with the premier of the new Star Trek prequel series Enterprise, the Treknology circles will soon be focusing on less flashy, more functional starship design philosophies.  I for one am particularly excited about this prospect.  I took hours of video and hundreds of pictures of Big E, as reference for my blueprint project...Enterprise-class Heavy Cruiser General Plans.  Current owners and fans of the Avenger-class and Miranda-class General Plans, currently for sale on this site, should expect the same, if not greater, level of detail in this latest set of starship blueprints.

I have been receiving several orders for customized plans lately.  Therefore, instead of copying my e-mails to potential customers every time I get an inquiry on customization, I have decided to create a concise page describing this process, and what customization actually entails.  Please check out my Customization Page, if you are interested in a personalized set of Avenger-class Heavy Frigate and/or Miranda-class Cruiser General Plans.  [top]

Enterprise-D Blueprints, you will love the Deluxe D-Size General Plans even more.  [top]
